World’s Biggest E-Governance Project in Maharashtra

A Smart Card revolution is taking place in India. Smart Card has become next big thing too. E- Governance and smart card are two sides of one coin. If you see the details of Unique ID project headed by none other than Mr. Nandan Nilkani you will come to know that how smart card is going to places. One other project which has collaboration of E governance and smart card is ESIC (Employee’s State Insurance Corporation) scheme.
The ESI Scheme is a unique multidimensional self financing social security scheme in which every contributor is a benefactor and a beneficiary. This integrated scheme of health insurance provides comprehensive medical cover and cash benefits in the contingencies of sickness, maternity, disablement and death due to employment injury to the Insured Persons and their dependants.
Employees, employers, State Govts and the Corporation are the major stake holders in the system of organized and coordinated effort providing social protection to benefactors. The role of employers, in particular remains pivotal to the success of the scheme, be it surveys for coverage, implementation, registration of factories/ establishments, registration of employees, regular payment of contribution, facilitating inspections and timely action to ensure steady flow of benefits to the employees.
The Act, in the first instance, applies to all non-seasonal factories using power and employing ten or more persons, and, to non-power using manufacturing units and establishments employing 20 or more persons for wages and falling within the scope of an implemented geographical area. As of now, employees of factories/ establishments that fall within the ambit of coverage, and earning wages not exceeding Rs. 10,000 /- per month are covered under the ESI Scheme.
Wipro has been selected to implement the ESIC's project aimed at improving healthcare services to its beneficiaries by providing online facilities to employers and insured people for registration, payment of premium and disbursement of cash benefits
This project have worked out already in Delhi, Haryana .The project will implement in Maharashtra now. To make this project successful Wipro is working alongside M-tech Innovations Pvt. Ltd. (www.m-techindia.com) in Maharashtra.
The first camp for Pune has been set at ESIC 689/690, Panchdeep Bhavan, Bibvewadi, Pune-37. People who have fulfilled dfs can come and enrol there between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. People who are eligible according to ESIC norms and comes under territory of ESIC Bibvewadi branch office can come and enrol in the camp. This camp will run from 16-12-2009 to 16-01-2010.

Please ensure that all the members as per DF form ONLY will be present for enrolment. Any member less and you won’t enroll.

Please bring your old ESIC card with yourself. Please contact on number given below for further information.
